The Kiel Pain Clinic is a new partner of the growing, cross-provider quality network "Wir für Gesundheit" (We for Health). The network comprises more than 230 selected partner clinics and numerous outpatient facilities throughout Germany, all providing above-average treatment and service quality. The "Wir für Gesundheit" network continues to expand: The Kiel Pain Clinic is the first specialized pain therapy clinic in Germany to now offer the PlusCard tariffs of Debeka Krankenversicherungsverein aG (Debeka Health Insurance Association).

Successful voluntary participation in external quality assessments such as the Initiative for Quality in Medicine (IQM) is a prerequisite for inclusion in the “We for Health” network.

The treatment concept of the Kiel Pain Clinic focuses on neurological pain disorders such as migraines, chronic headaches, and other pain conditions resulting from diseases of the nervous system. These are among the ten most disabling conditions and, after dementia and stroke, among the three most expensive neurological diseases. Traditional sectoral boundaries in care and medical specialties exacerbate their tendency to become chronic. At its core is multimodal pain therapy, meaning the consistent, interdisciplinary application of international scientific knowledge and differentiated service requirements to meet the needs of patients, indication-specific cooperation among specialized practitioners, and networking.

The goal is to provide lasting pain relief, restore quality of life, and enable patients to return to work. The clinic has received numerous awards for its innovative treatment concept, including the prize for the best implementation of integrated care in Germany. All available national and international knowledge for the treatment of chronic pain is readily accessible. In addition, we are focusing our research on neurological pain disorders, migraines, and other headaches to further improve future treatments. The collaboration between innovative health insurance companies and specialists has enabled exemplary progress in care nationwide, extending beyond standard services. This progress must be maintained and expanded.
